Ken Nehrbass is assistant professor in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and the director of assessment at California Baptist University. He has taught on missions and intercultural studies at Liberty University, Belhaven University and Biola University.
He is the author of more than seventy academic publications including journal articles, books, a multi-language dictionary, and book reviews.
Kenneth is an ordained Southern Baptist Pastor, and served as a pastor for seven years before he and his wife Mendy worked with speakers of the Nivhaar language in Vanuatu (South Pacific) to translate the New Testament, between 2002 and 2012. He continues to volunteer with Wycliffe Bible Translators as a translation and anthropology consultant. He also volunteers at Nightlight Christian Adoptions as the Post Adoption Report Coordinator for China and Hong Kong.
Kenneth holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Biola University, an MA in education from Biola University, an M.Div., from Anderson University, and a BA in Classical Civilization from the University of California, Irvine.
He is the president of the evangelical missiological society, and the editor of Faith in the Academic Profession, as well as review editor of the Great Commission Research Journal. When he is not working, he can be found with family or friends in the deserts, mountains or beaches of Southern California, where he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, sailing, and backpacking.
